The Newscaster is the monthly news letter for the Indianhead Fly Fishers. The current President's message will be here and the Newscaster archives will follow.
Happy New Year!
What’s happening? I hear the Weiser up by Cambridge is muddy, but grudgingly giving up a few trout. The Weiser pond is giving up planters whenever you can find open water.
The most imminent is the Fly Fishing Expo this weekend. Mr. Gulu has sent an email announcing a car pool trip down there this Friday, the 5th: meet at the Weiser BiMart parking lot at 10:30 am to join up for the trip. I suggest you let Jim know if you are going with us, to help with planning.
Next week’s membership meeting will feature Professor Stanton expounding on a feathery subject of interest to those of us who enjoy binding materials to hooks: lots of birds involved. As usual, the raffles, library and foam fish will be available. Tuesday 1/9. Show up at Idaho Pizza on Commercial St around 7:00 pm, buy yer food, join in and enjoy.
When Tom D. & Dave H. spoke to us about steelhead fishing, they extolled the benefits of a fly called the “Bennet’s Halo”. Royce will be showing us how it’s done on the 16th at the Weiser Library (at 7:00 pm).
Reminder- - - the days ARE getting longer, even when I can’t see the sun.
